Ground level at a Reclamation dedication on the Gunnison River Project: officers in the front, the public strung along the far bank, and the canal still empty.
Shows: A federal irrigation works on its opening day, from inside the crowd rather than above it.
What this does not let you conclude: A settled date. See the note above -- the catalogue says 1912 and the occasion looks like the 1909 opening, and nothing here resolves it. The Library dates the Harris & Ewing negative 1912. The frame shows a dedication crowd at a dry canal, and the Gunnison Tunnel was opened in September 1909 -- the catalogue's date and the scene do not obviously agree, and the date here is the catalogue's.
