Dune sand in North Park, published as a plate in USGS Bulletin 596. Sand on the move in a mountain park eight thousand feet up, not on the plains.

Shows: Bare, wind-moved sand in a high Colorado park, and the grass at its margin.

What this does not let you conclude: What moved it, or when. No streamflow or precipitation record accompanies the plate, and the year is the exposure's, not a drought year anyone has named.
