Carrying a water right first claimed in 1860

Water moves in this canal under a right first claimed in February 1860 -- among the oldest on Clear Creek, decreed by the water court in 1882 and still administered by that date today. Plate: 127 x 178 mm (5 x 7 in), 3 mm bleed
Material: 1.6 mm (0.063 in) aluminium, high recycled content, digital UV print
Finish: MATTE anti-graffiti overlaminate -- gloss throws sun into the phone camera and is the most common reason a scan fails
Service life: 7-10 years for the print at Front Range altitude, where UV is about double sea level. Porcelain enamel on steel (40-50 yr) is the option for markers meant to outlive us
Fixings: 4 stainless tamper-resistant screws, nylon washers, SLOTTED holes for thermal movement. Never rivet a dissimilar metal to the plate
Mounting: Centre 1000-1200 mm above the walking surface: readable standing, seated and by a child, and scannable without stepping off the path
QR code: 45 mm square, error correction H, 4-module quiet zone kept clear, dark on light, never inverted, matte over the code area. Printed module size 1.0 mm.
Colour: Ink #10161f on #f7f4ee. Not pure white -- it lowers glare

Before it is printed

Scan the printed proof with two different phones, outdoors, in sun.
Check the quiet zone around the code is clear of borders and folds.
Read the safety line back to the partner and use THEIR words.
Confirm the mounting spot is somewhere the public already stands.
Photograph the installed marker -- it is the programme's own record.

Ask first whether this can be a 90 mm insert on a sign that already exists rather than a new plate. The greenest marker is the one nobody manufactures, and a kiosk the public already reads is a better home than a new post beside it.
